Beampattern Synthesis and Optimization for Frequency Diverse Arc Array Based on the Virtual Element

With its special, arch-shaped array structure, a frequency diverse arc (FDAA) can perform beam scanning in 360 degrees azimuth and arbitrary ranges by selectively activating elements different positions, utilizing element phase compensation, adopting offset design. In this paper, beampattern synthesis optimization method for FDDA using the virtual based on geometric configuration of is proposed. First, position determined direction target, then activated are selected. Afterwards, each set up equiphase surface to obtain dot-shaped beampattern. Finally, amplitude weighting introduced suppress increased sidelobe level beampattern, which caused inverse density structure. Simulation results validate proposed FDAA.
